Arcane Addiction

i’ve this idea on the burn right now. it’s not 100% completed. but with some of the expansions i’ve done on it in the last 2 days, aside from dealing with personal life stuff (like quitting smoking for example), i’d say this is not a very great idea of experimental materials, but, oddly at the same time, it’s great stuff in it’s own way.

i’ll cut a demo off in the next week and post it up somewhere random, where you have to go to find it, to get a glimpse. or maybe it’ll surface here on this website in july or august. but new random stuff at least.

it is almost time to begin recording and experimenting again with the ideas and directions. already i’ve looked into projects that never formulated into anything solid as far back as 1999. yes, 1999. some of the ideas back then were very simple, very generic. i think they’d be great to bounce new fresh ideas from. so, if it happens, i’ll show you if applicable, what the fresh stuff is derived from.

otherwise, i’ve got a few more things to reinstall. over god knows how many gigs in my hard drive are screaming “don’t use me” right now. i’ll also with a little bit more work, upload a new fresh idea called “Tribal Garbage” which essentially if i didn’t mention, was an experimenting using garbage and cooking items and recording them as percussive elements. i’m enjoying getting a feel for the fresh start. it’s exhilarating.

so as i write this i’ve solidy based myself into this mindset.  the next project that will be released will be all instrumentals.  no actual vocal tracking.  just pure and raw instrumentation.  it will be rather different and interesting to say the least.  it will be exactly what needs to be done right now.  i’ve already been experimenting with a few things and soon as i fix the idea up a little bit more, it’s going to be an official free demo download idea.  all it’s gonna take is just figuring out how to texture this live percussive garbage… literally…

ok… it’s so warm here in Portland, that most likely, if it doesn’t stay cool enough in my natural habitat, i won’t be working on much.  i have a couple of things to do in the meantime to ensure that i can cool my habitat by up to 5 degrees naturally, and can cool it off with air conditioning by up to 15-20 degrees maximum.  if i could get this issue resolved, i might work on some new stuff.  in the meantime, don’t expect much, now that i think about it.  and i also have to begin uploading the 128 MP3’s tonight so i can prepare them for free launch in the discography area.

i figure i write something real quick while i can before i crash into the dark oblivion of the dreamstate.

so i’ve found myself thinking a lot lately on how i’d want to approach a 2nd album, and at this point, i know how i’m going to.

with that, i won’t spill beans on the details of this.  after posting the first LP online after the 1st, i plan to work on a few ideas and give out a few snips at a maximum of 30 seconds for people to hear.

those snips will be idealistically what you will expect, with vocals or not.  i have said, and i will have done.  the time to not repent for musical sin comes forth, it is due.

I decided to go to a blog-style format instead of constantly program stuff that my brain has no time for, a.k.a. HTML/CSS stuff.  I learned Flash as a junior in high school, and after 2 years, forgot completely, because the format of the program changed so much, I just gave up on it.

At least one thing you can look forward to… this will be helpful to actually read stuff, and browse, and get to learn what it is that I do, and will do until the last breath escapes from my mouth about 50 to 60 years down the road from the date this is posted.

I have updated the pages to reflect the previous version as well as the new version in a joint effort to minimize all the information as effectively as possible.  I do plan to add another page to this website when the time comes, and yes, it will be “Media”, because everybody that browses to your website wants to hear your stuff after all if you do music.  Or at least get a glimpse of what you do.  I’d do the same if I was researching your music too ;-)

So, in other news, I’ve been experimenting on a lot of random stuff that’s been going nowhere, but at the same time, it’s all coming together, since it’s all noises with frequencies that work together.  I plan to go over everything before I set up for a format and start with a fresh and clean slate.  One, that after all, is deserved after an extensive amount of doing stuff and working on website programming that I can’t focus on, and projects that are or are not related to me directly.

In the meantime, I’ll get to maintaining this WP-injected site during the times that I’m not doing much, and getting it all put together so you aren’t left in the dark.
